Pakistani students are eligible to study in English-taught degree programs in Sweden if they have a minimum of 60% marks in their previous studies, as well as meeting specific program prerequisites. Additionally, students must be proficient in English, as demonstrated by passing an internationally recognized English language test, such as IELTS, with a minimum score of 6.5, or PTE with a score of 66, which is not as widely accepted as IELTS.
Sweden has two intakes, namely September and January. September is the major intake and its application period is between October to January. The January intake’s application period is between June to August.
International students studying in Sweden are allowed to work part-time while they pursue their studies. The maximum number of hours that an international student can work in Sweden is 20 hours per week during the academic year. However, during the summer months of June, July, and August, students are allowed to work full-time, which means they can work up to 40 hours per week.
If you have completed a degree program in Sweden, you can apply for an extension for your current student residence permit which is for a period of up to one year. Once you have graduated and secured employment, you must then apply for a work permit in Sweden before the expiry of your residence permit. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable work experience in your field of study and to establish connections with potential employers.
As of 2022, the average tuition fee for international students in Sweden is approximately SEK 126,000-310,000 (PKR 2,150,000-5,275,000) per academic year for undergraduate programs, and SEK 190,000-270,000 (PKR 3,235,000-4,590,000) per academic year for graduate programs. Scholarships are available between 20-30% of the total tuition fee. 
The cost of living for Pakistani students studying at a university in Sweden can vary depending on several factors such as the city of study, lifestyle, and accommodation preferences. However, according to the Swedish Migration Agency, the average cost of living for a student in Sweden is estimated to be around SEK 8,190 per month (as of 2022), which translates to approximately PKR 1,395,000 per year.
Overall, the visa ratio is very good for a student wanting to study in Sweden. Family members of international students are allowed to accompany them to Sweden on a student visa. The Swedish Migration Agency provides a family reunification program that allows family members of international students to join them in Sweden for the duration of their studies.
